The Chips Are Down, Jean-Paul Sartre ( Ex-Lib, 1948) Lear Publishers

$200.00
Please check condition info above. Sartre's screenplay from 1947, published here, by Lear (NY) in 1948 and translated by Louise Varese. This is a very early edition, lacking a dust jacket, and having been through a dozen years of library wear and tear, but there is a real genuine feel to this book. It has been well-loved, yes, but is highly collectible and unique. 8vo black cloth over boards. No dust jacket present. Ex-library edition. Spine is worn, and may have been repaired at some point, but this is a solid little book that has seen some things. Library stamps on interior, a paste-on of a book review, and the original withdrawal slips from The Boston Public Library dating back to 1949. Unique, rough around the edges, but definitely a cool book.
